We’re from Melbourne and came to Sydney for a short trip. We found this place through Google reviews, and even though it wasn’t open when we first came at lunch, we actually waited until dinner just to try it — it was totally worth the wait! We ordered a la carte instead of the set menu, and every single dish was perfectly seasoned and just so delicious. Honestly, this might be my number one restaurant ever. We love you guys — thank you for the amazing food and warm vibes! 💛

Five stars all the way. First time here and loved the experience. Special mention to the staff. Waiters were so engaging....knowledgeable but without the attitude. Wine list was compact but interesting with excellent examples from the Hunter. All the food was cooked perfectly and came out piping hot. My wife could not give a favourite...loved them all from the linguini with calamari to the yellowfin tuna. We even had space for the donut. But this was no ordinary version...this had yuzu infused ricotta in it....great end to a great meal.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Humbug on Saturday early evening. We went for the feed me menu after letting the kitchen know we were a little tight on time and they timed it perfectly between courses and made sure we still made our show. The service was incredible, personal, friendly and knowledgeable. We loved each and every dish and loved that they were chosen for us. We will definitely be back!

It was our first night in Newcastle after a long drive, The service was amazing. The weight staff was very accommodating to our noisy kids. We had one of each pasta available on the menu that night and it was not disappointing!! Love how they cater for my lactose intolerant kid! They offered him vegan Mac and cheese which is perfect!!

I visited in early March for my partners birthday. Finally got around doing a review on this place. The service, the moment we walked in was very attentive, the host was happy to provide recommendations and explain some of the dishes. All the dishes were delicious, most notable the pasta. They have a great wine list which will pair great with the meals. Highly recommend this place and will be sure to visit again when I’m in Newcastle again.

Charlotte took really good care of us and made sure we had an amazing night celebrating my husband's birthday. She was quite informative and helpful. She was also quite knowledgeable with wine selections and suggestions. The team also added a sparkler on our desert plate. It's the small things that made our night really special. We ordered the "Feed Me" option and the food tasted amazing and portions and dishes were just right. There were 8 dishes all up we added an extra meal. Price point is perfect for what you receive! We highly recommend this restaurant. Keep it up Humbug, we love what you have created!

What an absolute delight! From our arrival, everything was seamless and we were so impressed with Humbug. Your staff were all so friendly and welcoming, and they gave great recommendations as we worked our way through your mouthwatering set menu. We will definitely be back soon!

Incredible food, friendly staff and impeccable service. Comfortable seats even at the bar tables! Favourite dish was easily the pumpkin agnolotti, though the sourdough focaccia with the pickles + butter came a close second. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looks.

Humbug is easily my go to for a special occasion dinner. Whilst the food and drinks are always sublime, what really keeps me coming back is the service. Attentive, personable, confident and knowledgeable. The staff know the menu through and through, and always offer spot on recommendations and pairings. You really feel like they want you to be there, which is not always the case in restaurants. I can’t fault the team at Humbug and cannot recommend it highly enough.

We’ve dined at HUMBUG twice and both times have been absolutely amazing! Every dish is well thought out and tastes as good as they look 😋 Charlotte is an absolute star! We’ve never received such genuine and thoughtfulness at any restaurant - she really made our night. A fantastic dining experience and well worth the money for good food. Definitely takes the top spot for my favourite restaurant in NSW! Thank you again ❤️
